As a Procurement Supervisor, you will contribute to Wenger Corporation’s strategy to provide exceptional customer experience by strengthening supplier relationships, improving purchasing processes, and ensuring consistent execution of procurement policies and procedures. As a Procurement Supervisor you will be overseeing daily procurement operations and ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of materials, components, and services required to support business operations. This position provides leadership to procurement staff, supports supplier management activities, and partners closely with operations, engineering, and finance to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals.

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, operations, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
  • Prior experience leading or coordinating the work of others.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and standard business software applications.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Knowledge of supplier performance management and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or technical organizations.

A typical day may include:

  • Supervise Procurement Operations
    Supervise and coordinate daily purchasing activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant procurement of materials, components, and services.
  • Lead and Support Procurement Staff
    Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and performance support to procurement team members. Assist with onboarding, workflow coordination, and coverage planning.
  • Supplier and Sourcing Management
    Support supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing performance management. Assist in identifying alternate sources of supply and supporting risk mitigation strategies.
  • Cost Management and Negotiation Support
    Support pricing reviews, cost reduction initiatives, and contract or pricing negotiations in coordination with leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Purchase Order and Compliance Oversight
    Oversee purchase order processing to ensure accuracy, proper authorization, and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Partner with operations, engineering, quality, and finance teams to align procurement activities with production schedules, inventory strategies, and project requirements.
  • Inventory and Supply Continuity Support
    Assist in managing supply continuity by monitoring material availability, lead times, and supplier performance to minimize production disruptions.
  • Process Improvement and Standardization
    Identify opportunities to improve procurement workflows, tools, and reporting processes. Support the development and implementation of standardized procurement practices.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis
    Prepare and review procurement reports related to spend, supplier performance, delivery metrics, and cost trends.
  • Policy and Documentation Management
    Support the development, maintenance, and communication of procurement procedures, work instructions, and internal documentation.
