Job description

The Opportunity

Amylyx is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced individual to join our fast-paced team as Manager, Procurement Operations. This newly created position will be part of a growing Procurement & Strategic Sourcing team and support Amylyx's Procurement Operations function. Reporting into the Sr. Director, Procurement & Strategic Sourcing, the ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills as well as previous experience in a global commercial life sciences organization.

We anticipate hiring the Manager, Procurement Operations in September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Executes the Purchase Order Management process for services and goods, including training and supporting internal stakeholders, issuing Purchase Orders to service providers and suppliers, tracking order status, resolving invoice discrepancies, and closing out Purchase Orders.
  • Owns the new service provider/supplier set-up and supplier master data maintenance process
  • Drives continuous improvement efforts in the Procure to Pay (P2P) process and implements solutions to streamline and enhance efficiency, accuracy, and appropriate approvals
  • Supports report generation and Purchasing data analysis
  • Oversees training documentation and communication of Procurement policies, processes and practices to educate business partners
  • Ensures compliance with Amylyx policies and procedures as well as adherence to SOX controls
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on sourcing and purchasing services.
  • Experience working within a GxP-regulated environment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Purchasing principles, processes, and practices
  • Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite experience a plus
  • Hands-on team player and fast learner with great time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications
  • Minimum 3 years experience in pharma/biotech

Preferred Requirements

  • Competence in communicating and collaborating with business partners in various departments as well as service providers / suppliers in multiple industries
  • Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks/projects to meet deadlines

Work Location and Conditions

  • At Amylyx, we proudly support remote work opportunities within the United States. However, due to business considerations related to health insurance coverage and state tax regulations, we are unable to hire employees who reside and/or work in certain states. Currently, we are not considering applicants from Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Michigan and Tennessee.
  • You will be expected to travel to our corporate location in Cambridge, MA several times a year and attend other company-related events as necessary and requested.
