POSITION SUMMARY

The Donations and Procurement Coordinator supports Calgary Dream Centre by coordinating the receipt, procurement support, transportation, storage, inventory, and distribution of donated and purchased goods.

The position requires frequent driving throughout Calgary to collect and deliver food, furniture, household goods, maintenance materials, equipment, and operational supplies. The coordinator also assists the Operations Team with light maintenance, grounds maintenance, property stewardship, and special projects as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, inspect, transport, store, and distribute donated and purchased goods.
  • Complete pickups and deliveries using Calgary Dream Centre vehicles.
  • Support procurement activities by sourcing products, obtaining quotations, and coordinating approved purchases.
  • Maintain organized inventory, storage, and donation areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and donation records.
  • Support volunteers involved in donation receiving and distribution.
  • Assist with furniture assembly, room setups, deliveries, and operational projects.
  • Assist with light maintenance, landscaping, grounds maintenance, property inspections, and seasonal property stewardship.
  • Build positive relationships with donors, suppliers, retailers, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in logistics, warehousing, procurement, inventory management, transportation, retail, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence with an acceptable driver's abstract.
  • Experience operating cargo vans, cube vans, or trailers is considered an asset.
  • Food Safe and WHMIS certifications are considered assets.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to safely operate organizational vehicles.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and material handling.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance, grounds maintenance, and hand and power tools.
  • Ability to lift and move materials safely.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequent driving throughout Calgary.
  • Regular lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, and material handling.
  • Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
