If you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoy building supplier relationships, negotiating costs, and ensuring materials are available to keep production moving, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career.As a Purchasing Specialist II, you'll play a vital role in supporting ENTEK's manufacturing operations by procuring the materials, equipment, tooling, and services needed to meet production schedules, quality standards, and customer commitments. You'll collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Inventory Control, and Supply Chain to help drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
As a Purchasing Specialist II, you'll manage purchasing activities that ensure ENTEK has the right materials, at the right time, and at the best overall value. You'll build strong supplier partnerships while supporting cost savings, inventory management, and production success.


In this role, you will:

  • Purchase machinery, equipment, tooling, raw materials, production parts, and supplies to support manufacturing operations 
  • Review purchase requisitions, Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, production schedules, and project requirements 
  • Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders and procurement documentation 
  • Manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and evaluate supplier proposals 
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and purchasing terms with suppliers 
  • Coordinate transportation and delivery of purchased materials and equipment 
  • Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost 
  • Resolve pricing, delivery, quality, and material discrepancies with suppliers and internal departments 
  • Maintain purchasing records, supplier databases, pricing information, and procurement documentation 
  • Provide timely updates on open purchase orders and material availability to internal customers 
  • Support inventory planning and material availability initiatives 
  • Generate fabrication work orders supporting internal manufacturing operations 
  • Identify and implement cost savings opportunities through sourcing improvements and supplier negotiations 
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and value engineering initiatives 
  • Support supplier qualification activities, audits, and supplier performance improvement programs 
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Inventory Control, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to support production goals 
  • Maintain compliance with company purchasing procedures and safety policies

Requirements

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a highly organized, customer-focused purchasing professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while building positive supplier relationships.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Three (3) or more years of purchasing, procurement, manufacturing support, supply chain, or related office experience preferred 
  • Strong computer proficiency and experience working within ERP systems 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy 
  • Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound business decisions 
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships across departments and with external suppliers 
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field 
  • Experience in manufacturing purchasing or industrial procurement 
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems 
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) 
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience 
  • Experience supporting supplier qualification, sourcing, or cost reduction initiatives 

Your Work Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position working Monday through Friday. This role is primarily office-based with frequent interaction throughout ENTEK's manufacturing facilities and regular collaboration with production teams, suppliers, and internal customers.
