Procurement Manager ------------------------------- Department: Procurement Reports to: VP, Supply Chain Classification: Exempt                  Direct Reports: Effective Date: July 2026 ------------------------------- POSITION SUMMARY Procurement Manager is a dynamic role that provides comprehensive oversight to purchasing, category management, and vendor relations for Urban Remedy including sourcing and evaluating vendors. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain the Procurement Manager will utilize buying knowledge to cost, effectively source, contract and secure raw materials and packaging commodities. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality ingredients, packaging, and operational supplies while supporting Urban Remedy’s commitment to organic, sustainable, and clean-label products. All employees are expected to embrace these core values as part of their daily work-life with Urban Remedy. ------------------------------- MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES   * Develop and execute procurement strategies for ingredients, packaging, co-manufacturing, and operational supplies * Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, pricing, service, and reliability standards are met * Monitor inventory levels, purchasing trends, and forecasting needs to minimize waste and prevent shortages * Partner with Production Planning and Operations teams to align purchasing with demand forecasts and production schedules * Lead contract negotiations and maintain vendor agreements, pricing files, and procurement documentation * Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining Urban Remedy’s quality and sustainability standards * Evaluate supplier performance using KPIs including delivery accuracy, lead times, pricing stability, and quality metrics * Ensure compliance with food safety, organic certification, and regulatory requirements * Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, spend analysis, and procurement reporting * Support new product launches by sourcing ingredients and packaging aligned with product innovation goals * Manage procurement systems, purchase orders, and ERP data accuracy * Stay informed on market conditions, commodity pricing, and supply chain risks impacting the food industry ** Assume additional responsibilities as assigned. ** An understanding of personal GMPs and will execute as trained. ** Aware of GMPs requirements and responsible for assuring that direct reports are aware and will execute as trained. ------------------------------- QUALIFICATIONS   Position-Specific Skills * Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Purchasing, or Management preferred. * 3+ years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably within food manufacturing, CPG, or fresh food operations * Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment * Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills * Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail Technical Skills Required * Effective influencing and negotiating skills. * Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). * Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems * Full knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices policies and procedures.   Education/Training Required * Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, and supply chain best practices * Background in scheduling, forecasting, procurement or planning preferred * Experience buying and importing raw ingredients; understanding of SQF Certification requirements preferred       ------------------------------- WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS   This position works in a standard office environment with extended use of the computer/ keyboarding and sitting as well as use of other office equipment such as phone and copier.  This position may spend time in a dangerous manufacturing environment and may be exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noises.   WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS   This position spends long periods of time sitting in the car as well as in the store.
