GOURMET FOODS INTERNATIONAL SAVOR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Gourmet Foods International, a specialty food distributor, is looking for a college student to work as an Intern while earning class credit this Summer. Our passion for fine foods is what has driven our company to become a leading specialty food supplier in the nation - and growing every year. Presently, we service customers in all 50 states with a very unique and extensive specialty food inventory, including artisanal and import suppliers (8000 regular stock items).
Our interns work with various departments to gain knowledge and experience across our entire Supply Chain. From procurement to inventory management, Interns will learn our business, performing a myriad of tasks aimed to give them insight into what it is like to work for a food service distribution company.

Since 1967, the mission of our company has been to provide the consumer with the freshest, most comprehensive, and highest quality products through our distribution channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include the following, but are not limited to performing other responsibilities as assigned
• Create reports aiding in the management of inventory levels concerning Out-of-Stock items, Out-of-Date items, and inventory leveling across all divisions.
• Assist Receiving, Shipping, and Transportation in their roles to gain a better understanding of our entire process
• Work with warehouse management to identify items with label malfunctions, and work to solve these issues
• Alert sales and buying teams to overstock and short-dated items
• Assist sales and marketing teams on product movement trends, including seasonality
• Work as a team with fellow interns to complete a project designed by the Upper Management of GFI. The project could consist of any or all of the above areas of focus
WORKSKILLS: Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, ability to work independently, ability to communicate effectively with fellow interns, co-workers and business managers.
QUALIFICATIONS: Proficient in Microsoft Office, mainly Excel and Access.
EDUCATION: Currently working to obtain a BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Admin, marketing or related field preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Will experience warehouse environment which may involve physical activity such as lifting or moving inventory, interns will work mainly in an office environment with no physical demands.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office and Warehouse environment
