About the Role

Supports the Purchasing Manager in managing material procurement for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. A key part of this role is driving adoption of the company's purchasing platform, which lets field supervisors place and manage material orders directly. Rather than handling order entry, the Coordinator trains and supports field teams, resolves system issues, and manages exceptions like backorders, shortages, and vendor problems.

Ideal for someone with electrical distribution or construction material supply experience who thrives in a fast paced, problem solving environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support rollout and adoption of the procurement software across field and project teams, including training and day to day troubleshooting
  • Monitor and resolve material flow disruptions (backorders, shortages, delivery delays) by sourcing alternative materials, vendors, or delivery strategies
  • Review and support purchasing activity for accuracy of pricing, vendor selection, and specifications
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships, obtain quotes, and evaluate sourcing options
  • Help standardize and improve procurement workflows for scalability

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or material supply
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and general software systems

Preferred:

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, construction management, industrial distribution, or operations management (not required; relevant experience may substitute)
  • Electrical distribution experience (highly preferred)
  • Familiarity with procurement or ERP systems
