Procurement Category Manager – Logistics

Location: Norfolk, VA or Deerfield Beach, FL

Work Arrangement: Full-time, onsite

MSH has partnered with a leading U.S. industrial and manufacturing organization with large-scale operations, a strong national presence, and a complex transportation network. The company continues to invest in procurement transformation and operational excellence and is seeking a strategic logistics procurement professional to optimize transportation spend, strengthen carrier partnerships, and mitigate supply-chain risk.

This highly visible role will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Fleet, Finance, and plant leadership while serving as a subject-matter expert for logistics procurement.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop sourcing strategies across transportation and logistics categories.
  • Lead carrier sourcing, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage trucking, rail, marine freight, fuel, fleet services, heavy-equipment transportation, warehousing, and distribution categories.
  • Analyze freight markets, fuel trends, rates, and capacity constraints.
  • Establish carrier scorecards, service KPIs, and supplier business reviews.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate transportation disruptions.
  • Monitor carrier safety, insurance, compliance, and contractual requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of logistics, transportation procurement, or strategic sourcing experience.
  • Experience managing transportation providers and carrier relationships.
  • Strong sourcing, negotiation, and category-management capabilities.
  • Heavy industrial, manufacturing, mining, cement, aggregates, or construction-materials experience preferred.
  • TMS, SAP S/4HANA, or related systems experience is a plus.
