Job description

Position Summary 

The Procurement Manager supports and coordinates procurement activities for a mechanical 

contracting company, assisting with sourcing materials and equipment required for construction 

projects. This role focuses on executing purchasing processes, maintaining procurement 

documentation, and ensuring timely ordering and delivery of materials in accordance with 

project requirements, company procedures, and direction from project managers and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

 • Assist in implementing procurement strategies aligned with project timelines, budgets, and company objectives, under the direction of project managers and leadership. 

• Coordinate sourcing activities and obtain pricing from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems. 

• Work with project managers and estimators to review project specifications, drawings, and estimates to identify material and equipment needs. 

• Prepare and process purchase orders and procurement documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures. 

• Track material lead times and coordinate delivery schedules to meet project milestones. 

• Maintain relationships with vendors to support pricing, availability, and delivery needs. 

• Monitor market conditions and report pricing changes or supply risks to project managers and leadership. 

• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to address procurement-related issues and support project execution. • Ensure procurement activities follow company policies, safety standards, and contractual requirements. 

• Assist with cost control efforts by gathering pricing information and supporting negotiations led by project managers or leadership. 

• Maintain procurement records and reporting systems for tracking expenditures, orders, and supplier performance. 

• Provide guidance and support to procurement team members as needed.
