Job description

Summary

ProCraft Cabinetry Chicago is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Cabinet Painter/Spray Booth Specialist. We are looking for a professional experienced in high-end cabinet finishing, specifically for luxury refinishing projects. The ideal candidate will be proficient in surface preparation, precision masking and taping, and spray finishing. We expect applicants to have extensive knowledge of professional painting techniques, home preparation, and the use of spray tools to ensure high-quality results.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Verify that colors and sheens accurately match showroom samples
  • Identify and document cabinet damage, including cracks, nicks, and scratches.
  • Master painting techniques for various cabinet styles to ensure flawless finishes.
  • Perform proper surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, patching, priming, and masking.
  • Clean cabinet components (doors, drawers, boxes, and undersides) using appropriate cleaners and scuff pads to remove dirt, grime, and grease.
  • Patch and fill nail holes, cracks, joints, and other imperfections.
  • Remove, label, and organize all doors, hinges, drawers, and hardware.
  • Secure all removed hardware in bags to ensure efficient reinstallation.
  • Prepare work areas with red rosin paper and plastic as required.
  • Operate hand tools and painting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Process orders according to customer specifications.
  • Notify management immediately of any irreparable flaws.

Qualifications

  • Professional painter with at least 3 years of equivalent experience.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 35-50 pound cabinets.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.

  • Ability to effectively manage project timelines and strictly adhere to schedules while running multiple jobs.

  • Clear communication with supervisors and team members.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team to complete projects on schedule.

  • Proven problem-solving skills.

  • Must possess a valid USA work authorization ID.

  • Being able to speak dual languages is preferred (Spanish and English)

Schedule: Monday- Friday. 8 hours shift. 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Overtime offered.

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour. The pay rate should be negotiated depending on the work experience

Job Type: On-Site. Full-Time.
