ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

Full-Time | On-site

Position Summary

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support our Project Manager across active commercial and residential construction projects. This role is ideal for a construction professional ready to grow into full PM ownership, with hands-on exposure to scheduling, subcontractor coordination, budgeting, and field operations. You will work directly alongside the PM and be expected to take increasing ownership over time.

Key Responsibilities

Project Support & Pre-Construction

• Assist the PM with pre-construction planning, scope review, budget tracking, and schedule development

• Help coordinate submittals, RFIs, and drawing logs; maintain organized project files and documentation

Scheduling

• Support maintenance of project schedules; prepare and distribute 2-week and 4-week look-aheads for field teams

• Monitor daily and weekly progress against the schedule; flag delays and assist with recovery planning

Subcontractor Coordination

• Assist with subcontractor communications, RFP issuance, bid leveling, and onboarding logistics

• Track sub performance on schedule, quality, and safety; escalate issues to the PM as needed

Budget & Cost Tracking

• Support budget tracking, cost coding, and invoice review; assist with change order documentation

• Help compile cost-to-complete reports and flag potential overruns to the PM early

Field & Meeting Support

• Attend site visits, OAC meetings, and subcontractor coordination meetings; take and distribute meeting minutes

• Serve as a point of contact for field teams on day-to-day questions, escalating decisions to the PM

Project Closeout

• Assist with punch list tracking, inspection scheduling, and owner training coordination

• Help compile closeout documentation including as-builts, O&M manuals, and warranty packages

Qualifications

Required

• 2-5+ years of experience in commercial and/or residential construction

• Familiarity with construction scheduling software (MS Project, P6, or equivalent)

• Experience with Procore or a similar construction management platform

• Working knowledge of construction drawings, specs, and contract documents

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

• PMP or CCM certification (or actively pursuing)

• Experience with mixed-use, multifamily, or light commercial projects

• OSHA 30-Hour certification
