Position Summary

The Plumbing Estimator I is an entry-level role responsible for assisting with the preparation of cost estimates for plumbing projects. This position supports senior estimators and project managers by performing takeoffs, analyzing drawings and specifications, and gathering vendor/subcontractor pricing. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to build a career in construction estimating within a growing company.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand scope of work.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for plumbing systems, materials, and labor.
  • Assist with the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates.
  • Solicit and review quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Maintain databases of material costs, labor rates, and project history.
  • Support project managers and senior estimators in bid reviews and proposal preparation.
  • Track bid opportunities and ensure timely submission of estimates.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade school background preferred.
  • 1–2 years of plumbing, construction, or estimating-related experience preferred (internships or field experience acceptable).
  • Basic understanding of plumbing systems, materials, and installation practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other estimating or project management software (Bluebeam, Trimble, Procore, etc. a plus).
