Job description

About this position

Forge Constructors is a commercial general contractor delivering ground-up construction, renovation, and tenant improvement projects across Texas. Our team is built on hands-on project leadership, disciplined field execution, and long-term client relationships. As we grow, we're looking for a Project Engineer who can bring structure, accountability, and Procore fluency to our project teams from day one.

About the role

The Project Engineer supports project managers and superintendents in the day-to-day execution of commercial construction projects, with a focus on documentation, submittals, RFIs, subcontractor coordination, and project reporting. This role owns Procore administration for assigned projects and serves as the team's go-to resource for keeping project information accurate, organized, and current. This position is based out of our Addison, TX office and reports directly to Mario Roder, VP of Operations.

This role is based in our Addison, TX office. Team members work onsite Monday through Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays. Occasional travel to active job sites within the Dallas–Fort Worth area should be expected.

What you'll do
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, transmittals, and daily logs in Procore, ensuring all project documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Serve as the project's Procore administrator — set up projects, manage permissions, build workflows, and train field and office staff on proper use.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and design teams to track deliverables, resolve open items, and keep schedules on track.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with budget tracking, change order documentation, and monthly owner billing support.
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify conflicts, coordination issues, or scope gaps, and route them for resolution.
  • Support procurement by tracking material lead times, purchase orders, and delivery schedules within Procore.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, project reports, and closeout documentation.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to verify field conditions align with project documentation and to support quality control.
  • Maintain accurate as-built records and support the punch list and closeout process.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar role within commercial construction.
  • Advanced, hands-on proficiency in Procore is required — including submittals, RFIs, budgeting, daily logs, and document management. Procore Certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of construction documents, specifications, and standard AIA contract forms.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across field, office, and client-facing teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word); familiarity with Bluebeam or similar takeoff/markup tools preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Quarterly incentives based on project performance
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance
  • Supplemental insurance offerings for hospital indemnity, critical illness, and voluntary life
  • 401(k) with employer contribution
  • Three weeks of paid time off
  • Paid federal holidays plus two flex holidays
  • Time off for bereavement, jury duty, and parental leave
