Job description

Indirect Loan Processor II

Job Type: Full-time/ Remote
Exemption Type: Non- Exempt
Wage Amount: $20.99 per hour minimum

Primary Function

The primary purpose of this position is to process and fund consumer indirect applications, including auto, recreational vehicle, solar, and merchant lending products. This role requires delivering exceptional service to dealerships, merchant lending partners, members, applicants, and internal team members. You will ensure compliance with legal requirements, lending regulations, and internal policies while serving as a subject matter expert and supporting the training of Level I team members.


Key Responsibilities

1. Indirect Loan Processing

  • Review electronically received contract packages for accuracy and completeness.
  • Contact dealers and partners to resolve funding issues promptly.
  • Process applications, verify stipulations and documentation, and prepare for funding.
  • Validate documents to prevent fraud.
  • Open indirect membership accounts and resolve related issues.
  • Fund and disburse loans, including deposits, proceeds, and dealer compensation.
  • Notify dealers and partners upon contract funding.
  • Handle inbound calls regarding pending or completed contracts.
  • Support outbound calls for loan verification and onboarding.
  • Process dealership payoff requests.
  • Resolve audit exceptions efficiently.

2. Department Support

  • Balance daily EFT totals and notify dealers.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly dealer reserve reports.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for indirect and merchant loan processing.
  • Make override or exception decisions within guidelines.
  • Assist with escalations and complex problem resolution.
  • Support training and coaching of Level I team members.
  • Lead team huddles and monthly dialogs.

3. Miscellaneous Duties

  • Consistently meet or exceed Level II performance expectations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge through training and procedure reviews.
  • Participate in departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Represent the credit union at volunteer and community events.
  • Complete annual regulatory training.
  • Conduct quarterly performance dialogs with supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a financial institution or sales.
  • At least 1 year of experience in consumer lending or loan processing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of consumer loan products, policies, and regulations.
  • Proficient in indirect vehicle contracts and consumer loan documentation.
  • Familiarity with lending regulations (Reg B, ECOA, FACTA, FCRA, Reg Z, MLA, TILA).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professionalism, diplomacy, and tact.
  • Strong math and computer skills (MS Office proficiency).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and data entry.
  • Heavy communication via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities in dynamic environments.
