Job description

Affidian Credit Union is looking for an experienced Consumer Lender to process and close loans at their Aurora location. We are an established, strong organization looking for someone who enjoys helping others and building relationships. The pay rate is from $25.00 to $36.00 per hour and will commensurate with experience. The Credit Union promotes from within, there is an opportunity for growth and advancement.

This position is located at the Credit Unionโ€™s Denver Branch, 992 Potomac Circle, Aurora, CO 80011. This is a full-time, in-office, position. Working hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with an occasional start time of 7:00 am.
Summary:
Responsible for performing in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of all functions related to the objectives of the loan department. To provide cross-selling and service delivery at the highest level, while promoting lending products to meet Credit Union goals and objectives. Perform with an emphasis on quality underwriting and low delinquency.ย 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interviews and assists applicants applying for consumer loans and prepares all appropriate documents.
  • Evaluate applications, debt ratios, and credit, and either approve or deny loans within the limits of authority delegated. May also refer applications to the internal loan committee. Disburse loan proceeds as directed by the approving authority.
  • Review, decision, and book indirect auto loans and other third-party loans.
  • Accurately input and maintain member loan/account information on a computer system.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and cross-sell to members to increase loan portfolio and deepen member relationships.
  • Assure that appropriate records are filed and maintained in all systems (Symitar, Synergy, etc.).
  • Assist in training of lending and branch staff.
  • Perform other related duties, including special projects as required or requested.
  • Assist in Member Service duties when needed.
  • Assist in Teller duties when needed to include opening and closing of the branch.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of AML/BSA/REG B/TRUTH IN LENDING regulations to ensure self-compliance in carrying out related policies and procedures and filling out proper reports in a timely and accurate method.

  • Adhere to all Credit Union Policies and Procedures including compliance with directives and expectations in the Affidian Employee Handbook.
  • Provide courteous, friendly, timely, and professional service to all members and co-workers, using all the established CORE VALUES of the Credit Union.

Qualification Requirements:
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Outside contact is important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) is necessary.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Two or more years experience as a consumer loan processor.ย 
  • The equivalent of a high school education or completion of specialized courses of study at a business or trade school.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of loan documentation, credit granting criteria, proper collecting guidelines, and interest rates is necessary.
  • Experience conducting credit research and related interviews.
