We have three baking facilities: Brooklyn, New York, our history; Newark, NJ, our coprorate offices and primary bakery; Clifton, NJ, our newest and largest bakery, as well as our R&D center. All sites comply with SQF practices; all sites have highest standards for occupational safety. In total we employ more than 400 people, some who have grown alongside us for 30+ years. In each of the past six years we have been named by NJ Bix as one of "New Jersey's Best Places to Work".We have a very strong- and even historic- presence in the Metro New York market, originally for our Pitas, in recent years for a host of Flatbreads, which include Lavash, Wraps, Pizza Crusts, Buns, and more. With the recent start up of our Clifton Bakery, we hope to expand our product line to include sweet and savory baked goods, snacks, and culinary offerings.We are seeking a Self-Directed, 'Hands-On', PLANT MANAGER to help us grwo in our Newark or Clifton Bakery.CORE COMPETENCIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: Being a LEADER, a THINKER and a COMMUNICATOR Enforcing all poclies that assure Safety to our Employees and Food Safety to our customersTo work directly under and report to Director of Operations JOB FUNCTIONS:In conjunction with Director of Operations, to create progressive goals and budgets for all departments and its employees;Provide support and on the floor training to all department heads to achieve goals;Walk the floor daily along with department heads to discuss daily issues and review daily results;Participate in daily operations conference call to report and discuss any operational issues;Meet weekly with the Director of Operations to report and explain weekly KPI’s;Continuously explore all opportunities in processing and operations to create savings and benefit for the company;Participate in daily evaluation of all products and provide constructive feedback to ensure product excellence;Upon approval from Director of Operations, immediately implement all new opportunities or programs which will provide savings and benefits to the company;Provide growth, training and incentive opportunities to all department heads and their employees;To have a ‘24/7 Presence’, regularly on-the floor during off-hours and weekends; Proactively calling or emailing your staff or other managers, re-actively calling or emailing when your staff or other departments initiate contact;Keep abreast of industry innovations, aimed towards processing, mechanical, information, baking and any industry related technology;Manage established budget and provides periodic budget reports to management. Monitors and controls expenses pertaining to labor and overtime hours throughout to attain annual budget;Manage manufacturing schedule to support improved productivity and reliability. Ensures manufacturing team meets or exceeds budget targets for reducing waste;Support all established plant and departmental goals and objectives.
