Plant Manager

Philadelphia, PA


SUMMARY


Our well established and growing manufacturing client in Philadelphia is seeking a Plant Manager to direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities. Plant Manager will ensure all production operations are running efficiently and effectively and allocate labor to all operations to maximize productivity.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:


Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Plant's policies and applicable laws.


Direct and manage plant operations to ensure the business objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. 

Provides direct supervision and leadership to production work groups.

Develop and control production plans, budget, health, and safety.

Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries; including profit and loss responsibility.

Manage capital asset maintenance. 

Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses. 

Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary. 

Provide direction, leadership, development and training to supervisors and team to drive the completion of goals and objectives. 

Implement and maintain preventive maintenance, standardized work and lean manufacturing programs. 

Incorporate shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel. 

Develop, implement and maintain an effective safety program and ensure compliance to satisfy the requirements of local legislation, EPA and OSHA.

Maintain superior customer service and on-time delivery.

Other duties as assigned.




Qualifications


Five to ten years of manufacturing plant management experience.


Experience in the electronics recycling, materials processing or waste management industry high preferred.


Bachelor's degree in related field required.


Experience working with a union or managing a Collective Bargaining Agreement is preferred.


Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements. 


Experience with implementing lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives in a new organization.


Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
