POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Loan Processor Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Processing Manager in overseeing a team of loan processors to ensure mortgage applications are completed efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with all federal and state regulations. Assist the Processing Manager with departmental workflows, balances team workloads, and monitors performance to meet production and quality standards. Serves as a key liaison between loan officers, processors, underwriters, and borrowers, ensuring clear communication, timely issue resolution, and a smooth loan processing experience from application through closing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA/USDA, & Home Equity lending experience required.

  • Minimum of 5 years mortgage processing experience with a demonstrated history of working in a high-performance team required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills when collaborating with loan officers, key stakeholders, and cross-functional management teams, ensuring clear expectations, timely updates, and effective resolution of issues throughout the loan process.

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Proficient in mortgage Point of Sale (POS) and Loan Origination Systems (LOS), with extensive experience utilizing automated tools to verify employment, income, and assets through web-based applications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists the Processing Manager in coordinating daily workflows for the processing team while serving as a key resource for inquiries related to workflow, processing procedures, loan products, and loan officer needs.

  • Assists the Processing Manager in providing leadership by training, onboarding, mentoring, and motivating loan processors to achieve productivity, quality, and compliance goals.

  • Serves as the primary point of escalation for complex loan processing issues, collaborating closely with processors, underwriters, and loan officers to ensure timely and effective resolutions.

  • Assist the Processor when setting up complex loan files and analyzing incoming loan files to ensure we have the appropriate documentation.

  • Assist Processors and Loan Officers calculate income and asset information required per product guidelines.

  • Assist clearing non-credit prior to close conditions such as title, homeowner's insurance, and appraisal modifications.

Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting your position and area of responsibilities and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation, if required.
