Job Summary
To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Cost Accounting Manager. This role will be located in Columbia, South Carolina.
Reporting to the Controller, the Cost Accounting Manager will be primarily focused on business interactions with the Global Business Services team to achieve the review of month end closing financial activities and overall budgeting process. In addition, the Cost Accounting Manager will assist the site Controller with day-to-day operations and ad-hoc report requirements and oversees the overall site compliances from an inventory perspective. The role assists with overall cost control measures & strategic planning engagement to improve the site's overall cost efficiency. All reporting must be in line with corporate policies and processes and legislative requirements to ensure financial reporting analysis and forecasts supporting business strategy and decisions.
The ideal candidate has experience working with the Global Business Services team and managing & leading a team of cost accountants within a contract manufacturer organization as well as the ability to work independently and under pressure & deliver on tight deadlines.
What a typical day looks like:
  • Serve as main point of contact for GBS on finance related objectives.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial management reports.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial investigation for local management.
  • Prepare receivables report as required.
  • Work closely with operations and commercial teams to recognize the business and the impacts to the site financial position.
  • Prepare weekly/month-end reports for business team.
  • Prepare financial reports for regulators and Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
  • Help internal and external financial audits.
  • Assist with managing the Accounting and costing departments.
  • Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business administration or related field or equivalent experience and training.
  • A background in manufacturing/cost accounting is preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrates advanced functional and technical skills and basic people and/or process management skills.
  • Demonstrates advanced and thorough knowledge of the function and Flex's business with holistic understanding of the internal GBS team.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and comprehension of relations of such processes at the site.
