Job Description

Position Purpose: This position is responsible for leading Processing Engineers responsible for the installation, validation, ramp-up and life cycle management of injection molds and molding solutions for medical device components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead all injection molding process engineering and processing activities across multiple plastic injection molding sites.
  • Manage and organize the activity of project specific Injection team: planning, organization of work, definition and monitoring of workloads, monitoring and communication of its indicators.
  • This position oversees process development, optimization, troubleshooting, personnel management, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure the adequacy between the necessary skills and the objectives of the company (quality policy, processes and progress plans): participates in the definition of recruitment needs, assesses its employees, draws up the training plan, manages the integration and training of new hires in his team.
  • Support the development of specifications for injection molding machines, molds, peripherals for preparing and regulating plastics, etc., in accordance with Nemera standards
  • Endorse injection validation protocols.
  • Perform the reception and qualification of equipment, molds and peripherals in accordance with specifications and validation plans.
  • Ensures the transfer of technical files for equipment, molds and peripherals and the training of production teams.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
  • Participate in internal project reviews and client project meetings.
  • Support lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures including the use of Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering or similar technical field
  • Minimun 3-5 years of supervisor experience in plastics manufacturing
  • 7+ years of experience in Injection Molding Processing
  • Strong knowledge of scientific molding methodologies
  • Industrial manufacturing experience working in high-volume injection molding
  • Experience in the qualification of complex, tight tolerance injection molds
  • Experience supporting high volume production and plastic injection molding
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, Etc)
  • Clear and well organized oral and written communication

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Experience working in a cGMP / ISO 13485 compliant manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrates leadership knows how to mobilize individual and collective energies
  • Excellent problem-solving skills using DMAIC methodology
  • Strategic thinking

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in an office and clean manufacturing environment that may include moderate noise levels and required appropriate PPE and cleanroom apparel
