Job description

Find your calling at Mercy!Directs and coordinates all activities of Sterile Processing Department. Works independently with delegated authority and responsibility from the Director Regional Sterile Processing or designee. Works collaboratively with Main OR, CVOR, OB, and others to deliver effective and efficient services. Meets standards of safe patient care through proper handling of instruments. Maintains knowledge in operation, maintenance, parameters, policies and procedures regarding infection control, disinfection, and sterilization. Maintains detailed records in accordance with quality control and regulatory standards. Manages Sterile Processing Department Coworkers in conjunction with Director - Regional Sterile Processing. Performs all functions of Instrument Technician when needed to help staff.Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience: One year experience in operating room, instrument room, or ambulatory surgery center (intraoperative)
Certifications: CRCST or obtain within 6 months
Other: Fluent in written and spoken English, skilled in using electronic medical record to determine instrument needs, experience with surgical instruments, sterilization, and processing
Preferred Experience: One year leadership experience
Preferred Other: Fluent with automated instrument tracking systems, adept in Excel, Word
