Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processing Supervisor to join our team in New York, NY.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 6pm- 2:30am, additional days and hours may be required

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the day to day operations of the non-technical staff for the Accessioning department

  • Assist with preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor non-technical personnel of the department

  • Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate coverage

  • Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed

  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary

  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements

  • Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy

  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents

  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development

  • Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures

Minimum Qualification:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent

  • 3 years or more experience in clinical laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree

  • 1 or more supervisory or leadership experience

  • 1 or more distribution experience

Additional Job Standards:

  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal

  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position

  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Benefits:  Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
