Pay Range
$94,100.00-$129,400.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.
Position Overview:
The Process Engineer II role provides technical leadership to operate manufacturing assets at target regarding output and usage of material while meeting finished product specifications. This position will lead continuous improvements within the Spartanburg facility in areas of customer resolution, product quality, process capability, product cost reduction, and new technology identification and implementation.
Your Day-to-Day:
  • Lead multiple projects and process optimizations in a manufacturing operation

  • Evaluate processes and programs to improve product quality, process capability, reduce cost, and ensure employee safety.

  • Work with the Process Engineering/Technical Team to implement process changes, conduct trials, and provide new product scale-up support.

  • Evaluate new technology to improve process capability and to develop new products.

  • Work with the manufacturing/engineering team to transfer new technology, develop and commercialize new products, and initiate best practices.

  • Conduct formal root cause and corrective actions on quality complaints and process issues.

  • Optimize and troubleshoot manufacturing processes.

  • Create and maintain knowledge of latest technologies and evaluate for use in current and future processes.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of the site's quality management system.

  • Work closely with internal and external resources to resolve technical issues.

  • Train and develop employees to provide operational responsiveness and increase operator technical knowledge.

  • Provide technical support to a 24/7 continuous process operation.

What You Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field (Industrial, Systems, Mechanical, Chemical).

  • 3+ years of engineering experience in an industrial process.

  • Candidate should have a desire to grow and develop towards operations, superintendent or other management roles within a manufacturing plant.

  • Exposure to manufacturing facility safety and quality programs.

  • Experience in data analysis and computer applications systems

  • Proven ability to identify opportunities and execute improvements.

  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficient in computer applications and data analysis.

  • Ability to meet aggressive program deliverables and work in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Ability to occasionally travel (domestic and international) for training and business support.

  • Strong technical and administrative skills

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam

  • Ability to work with extended hours as necessary to complete work assignments

Preferred:
  • Six Sigma/Lean/SPC experience, Greenbelt/Blackbelt certification.

  • Experience in polymer science or textile manufacturing.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to climb stairs and safely access process machinery and controls on a multi-level manufacturing line.

  • Must be able to safely lift equipment/material of moderate weight (50 lbs.).

  • Must be able to wear plant required Personal Protective Equipment. (respirator, hearing protection, safety shoes, safety glasses, etc.)
