Job Description Summary
The Sterile Processing Logistics Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of surgical instruments and medical devices across Sterile Processing Department (SPD), Operating Rooms (OR), Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASC), and offsite reprocessing locations. This role ensures timely delivery, accurate tracking, and efficient turnaround of instrumentation to support surgical schedules, optimize inventory utilization, and maintain regulatory and accreditation compliance.The Logistics Manager serves as a key liaison between SPD, perioperative services, supply chain, original equipment manufacturers (OEM), and external vendors. This position oversees instrument repair logistics, services agreements, tray building processes, tray inventory levels, and instrument depot operations while collaborating closely with SPD site managers on budget planning and with OR coordinators to align instrumentation needs with case demand.

Education and Work Experience:
Graduate of high school or GED equivalency required.
Must be certified and maintain a certification in sterile processing form CRCST – HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) or CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)
Minimum of 4 years of sterile processing experience in sterile processing and/or leadership role and/or Operating Room.
Knowledge of sterilization principles, microbiology, and infection prevention practices.
Knowledge of instrument names, functions, and specialty sets.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Basic computer proficiency for documentation and recordkeeping.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced certification (CIS, CER, CHL) preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems.
