Position SummaryThe Health, Safety, & Environmental Manager provides support and expertise to the organization at all levels to help achieve our safety strategies and goals. This role will help to lead and influence behavioral changes to reduce incidents as we aim to be industry leaders in health and safety. The HSE Manager will assist in the implementation of training, meetings, risk assessments, and audits by supporting and maintaining our HSE systems and processes.We are a Safety F1rst company where safety is a foundational value. As an HSE Manager, you play a critical role in shaping and implementing our HSE strategies, ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance. This role will support The Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Director in collaborating with other operational personnel in implementing robust safety & environmental training platforms to increase the competencies of our employees across the organization.Core Duties/Key ResponsibilitiesUtilize strong interpersonal skills and project management to collaborate and communicate with district and team members to ensure our locations and facilities are compliant with internal and external regulations.Conduct regular HSE inspections of districts and work sites to ensure company and regulatory compliance.Assist with contractor safety management system including pre-qualification process.Assist with company and district DOT program and requirements.Manage the PERC training program and schedule ensuring full compliance with the established training matrix.Facilitate new hire orientation for all levels of the organization.Provide requirements for PPE inventory including research of new/additional equipment as required.Ensure required HSE reporting is completed on time and accurately.Maintain HSE logs and documents and prepare reports as necessary and requested.Administer document control procedures as they relate to safety management system requirements.Assist in updating HSE programs, policies, and standards as needed to ensure regulatory compliance.Maintain/update safety databases (e.g., ISNet, LMS, etc.).Follow up on all Accident / Incident reports to ensure that they are completed, investigated, root cause analysis, and that recommended preventative measures are acted upon.Assist with company and district sustainability initiatives.Aid with HSE due diligence on potential acquisitions and lead integration efforts.Support in facilitating annual Health & Safety Days as well as additional safety meetings, workshops, and drills to enhance safety culture and emergency response readiness.May perform other duties as reasonably assigned.Position QualificationsExperience/EducationRequired Education: Bachelor's Degree; MBA is a plus but not required.Fields of Study Preferred: Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Required Work Experience: 2-3 years of progressive HSE experience; energy, transportation, or logistics preferred.OSHA and DOT experience preferred, PERC certifications a plus.Understanding of NFPA 54 & 58, or related codes desired.Required Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesMicrosoft Applications: Proficient (in particular, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Additional Technology: High technical capabilities with ability to quickly learn and utilize new technologiesTravel: 25 - 40%Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills requiredAdditional Requirements:Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or similar are beneficial.Prior experience with propane, propellants, or compressed gases is highly desired.Unquestioned integrity and ability to properly manage confidential information.In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, best practices, and industry standards.Experience with renewable energy technologies, retail operations, and sustainability initiatives is a plus.Physical/Working RequirementsThe work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
