Job Summary:

The Engineering Project Manager - Payment Systems will partner closely with the Engineering Manager and Product Manager to fulfill the company's overall roadmap as it relates to hardware and software systems development. This is accomplished through defining processes, clarifying scope, identifying resources, and scheduling according to roadmap and resource availability. Being a systems driven company, it is critical that this team partners across all functional groups, including but not limited to; Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Sales and Support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspire and motivate the team using the company's leadership competencies to create an environment that cultivates a collaborative problem-solving mindset to execute on customer solutions.
  • Take full ownership of engineering projects and sprints to ensure customer commitments are met in a timely manner and representative of our high level of quality standards.
  • Align with Engineering Manager to delegate work and product design in a way that team members feel a sense of ownership, autonomy, and accomplishment.
  • Create project plans and communicate project timelines, human capital, and other resources to Leadership to ensure directional alignment with all departments.
  • Lead scrum processes in coordination with the Engineering Manager.
  • Maintain Product Planning Group (PPG) best practices by conducting Monthly PPG progress meetings and maintaining the Product Planning List (PPL)
  • Participate in Quarterly Strategic Review meetings and update engineering team with the highlights of future Roadmap initiatives or changes.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement strategies within the product lifecycle
  • Coordinate efforts in balancing New Product Development with Life Cycle improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments, GM and key stakeholders on process improvement, product enhancements, and overall company direction.
  • Drive innovation throughout all aspects of the development process.
  • Find ways to motivate the team to think differently about how we engage our product roadmap.
  • Work closely with Product Management on the specifications for NPD.
  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent. Master's degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a software development environment understanding aspects of software development, product road mapping, quality standards, and project management best practices.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in leading, directly or indirectly, a team of software or other technical salaried and hourly roles.
  • Previous experience with Scrum processes
  • Previous experience coordinating work between domestic, international, and remote team members.
  • Demonstrated success in managing or leading cross functional projects with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Exhibits a high level of professional standards including; organized, planful, detail orientated, excellent communicator, bias for action and exciting challenges, results oriented, and motivated by finding creative solutions in a timely manner in a fast paced fluid environment.
  • Must have proven experience in a process-oriented development environment with excellent knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
