Job Description
As a 'National ENR Top 25 General Contractor' that values its employees and fosters a positive and supportive culture, Whiting-Turner is seeking a qualified project manager for various commercial projects in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, team-based working environment.
Qualified candidates shall possess 3 to 15+ years of experience in the industry and a track record for delivering complex projects with minimal delays and emphasis on delighting the customer. It is important for a candidate to have a proven ability to manage a team, schedule and costs while focused on the safety and quality on the project.
The following experience and skill set are preferred:
• Ability to be a leader and mentor as part of diverse team.
• Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Knowledge of construction principles and ambition to succeed/advance.
• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management, Construction Technology.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Practitioner of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Experience managing financial impacts on site.
• Proven ability to plan, schedule and coordinate subcontract trades.
• Ability to interface well with owners, architects, engineers, including on site management team.
• Subcontract award / buy-out.
• Scope writing / definition.
• Change order presentation & negotiation.
• Prepare schedules and manage progress.
• Project accounting skills.
• Scheduling / software experience.
