Job description

The Sr Business Analyst will serve as a critical link between our long-tenured operational teams and our technology group during key system enhancement initiatives. This role requires an individual who excels at understanding deeply established business processes, building trust with users, and translating operational needs into clear technical requirements.
The ideal candidate brings empathy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to respectfully challenge the status quo while enabling meaningful change across the organization.
MUST HAVE skills include - 7+ years of Business Analyst (BA) or Systems Analyst (SA) experience, 5+ years Test Plan writing experience, strong visual diagram experience (ie, Lucidchart or other product), strong ability to leverage multiple projects simultaneously
This role requires 4 days ON SITE in Chesterfield, and 1 day remote, per week.
Essential Functions:
• Engage directly with business users across departments such as Warehouse, Sales, and Finance to document existing workflows and operational processes.
• Conduct in-depth process analysis to understand the purpose and rationale behind long-standing procedures.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders through active listening, thoughtful questioning, and clear communication.
• Serve as a liaison for change management, helping users understand the value of new system solutions and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create and maintain project documentation, including current-state and future-state process maps, workflow diagrams, and functional requirements.
• Develop basic mockups, flowcharts, or wireframes to visually communicate proposed system changes and features.
• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and measurable acceptance criteria for development teams.
• Act as a subject matter expert during development to ensure solutions align with approved requirements.
• Support quality assurance efforts by creating test cases and performing functional testing to validate system functionality.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Experience working with complex, established business processes.
• Full lifecycle experience gathering requirements through testing and implementation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly when working with users resistant to change.
• Proven ability to build consensus and trust across multiple departments.
• Proficiency in business analysis documentation techniques, including process mapping and requirements definition.
• Ability to create basic UI mockups or prototypes using tools such as PowerPoint, Lucidchart, or similar.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Experience in the packaging, manufacturing, or distribution industries is preferred.
