Job description

As a Process Improvement Engineer, Aerospace Manufacturing you will cover all areas of Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Performance Improvement, World Class Manufacturing, Process and Capital Improvement, and Personal Growth. You will work on-site at our Huntsville, AL facility and report to the Development Engineering Manager. This role works directly with the Prep team at out facility in Huntsville, AL

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving improvement and maximizing productivity among the products and processes associated with one or more work cells.

  • Serve as a technical resource for production team in the work cell. Work closely with operators to eliminate barriers to production. Provide technical support for day-to-day operations.

  • Priorities include: improving product quality, increasing process capacity, reducing variation within product and process, reducing cycle times and setup times, and adopting new technologies to modernize manufacturing processes

  • Track and analyze relevant production metrics within work cell. Utilize production data to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress.

  • Team Player: Collaborate with quality team, design engineering team, new product development team, safety team, analytical lab, operators, and other manufacturing engineers on a regular basis to resolve problems, improve manufacturing processes, and improve safety of the work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science or greater in Engineering or scientific discipline required.

  • 5+ years of experience within engineering or an equivalent environment required.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Ability to effectively work with floor level operators, manufacturing, quality and design engineering teams to drive positive change.
