Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain Projects, the Manager, Supply Chain Projects & Contracting is responsible for leading a team that provides strategic sourcing, procurement, contracting, and contract administration support for a portfolio of capital projects within AltaGas Core Projects group. As a recognized subject matter expert, this role plays a key leadership position in the development, negotiation, and execution of complex, high-value commercial agreements while ensuring alignment with project objectives, business priorities, and risk management strategies.

This position provides oversight and guidance to team members throughout the contract lifecycle and is accountable for the planning, execution, and administration of procurement and contracting activities, including:

development & execution of procurement strategies in alignment with project strategies
seeks risk mitigation and cost savings opportunities
creates and issues POs/ROs to suppliers in accordance with requisitions requirements
resolves commercial and technical issues
advising the business unit on risk mitigation
draft and execute high value agreements
lead disputes and claims
guide and oversee contract close-out activities

The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders, project teams, suppliers, contractors, and external partners to ensure effective delivery of procurement and contracting services. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, improving processes, and fostering strong customer-focused relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritizes, allocates and governs work activities to meet business needs and mitigate risk; maintains data integrity and accuracy; ensures compliance with SOX, corporate policy, contractual obligations and other requirements
  • Develops and executes annual business plans, assists with budgets, and other projects and initiatives in a cost-effective manner that align with function objectives
  • Demonstrates strong leadership, team resource planning and performance management, with effective hiring, onboarding, training and coaching strategies, and can lead change and help others adapt to a changing environment
  • Establishes an environment of continuous improvement; develops and optimizes processes and practices to ensure efficiency and accuracy; supports development and implementation of technology initiatives
  • Develops Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and delivers team productivity in line with business goals
  • Inspires the team with clear vision, goals and priorities, sets clear expectations of roles and responsibilities, identifies and communicates best practices, recognizes and rewards successes, and promotes a highly collaborative and cohesive team environment
  • Ensures team compliance to training requirements, work standards, policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned from time-to-time
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, Business, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive Supply Chain Management experience with a focus on sourcing, procurement, contracting, and procure-to-pay processes.
  • Experience managing holdback regulations, requirements, and compliance activities is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business systems.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to effectively allocate resources and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent customer service, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to influence and work effectively within cross-functional teams while managing multiple stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment with changing priorities and business needs.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
