About the Role:

The Process Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing and enhancing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety within our production facilities. This position involves analyzing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing innovative solutions to reduce waste and increase throughput. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, and maintenance to ensure seamless process integration and compliance with industry standards. They will also be responsible for developing and validating process simulations and control strategies to support continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this role aims to drive operational excellence and contribute to the company’s competitive advantage in the manufacturing sector.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education (technical certification, associate degree, bachelor’s degree) with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. Consideration will be given for additional years of experience in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Proven record of accomplishments showing process improvement and the ability to streamline processes.
  • Experience with tooling design, fixture, jig, and/or template creation desired
  • Experience working in a high demand contract or OE manufacturing environment with electro- mechanical components and products.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments leading and implementing quality improvement projects desired.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Black Belt experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes to improve safety, throughput, efficiencies, production yields, and costs.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in all aspects related to production, including training of employees in the appropriate use of tooling, equipment, interpretation of assembly documentation, and lean tools, techniques, and practices.
  • Interface with and give support, as required to Managers, Manufacturing, Test, Purchasing, Engineering, Process Documentation, and Materials.
  • Coordinates with the various departments engaged in setting up or changing the manufacturing processes involved with the new or revised product.
  • Establishes standardized work, process flow, detailed procedures, and requirements for all phases of manufacturing to meet cost, quality, performance, and schedule requirements.
  • Develops, improves, and monitors tooling for prototype and legacy products.
  • Take responsibility for other essential duties, as determined by management
  • Lead and/or contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Skills:

The required skills, including experience in manufacturing and electronics manufacturing environments, are essential for supporting efficient production processes and ensuring products meet customer, quality, and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001:2015 quality systems, IPC-A-610, IPC-620, and J-STD-001 standards enables the engineer to maintain compliance and drive consistent product quality. Proficiency in CAD software, including SolidWorks and other CAD/CAM modeling tools, is critical for designing tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing solutions that improve productivity and support operational needs. The ability to develop labor estimates for quoting contributes to accurate project planning and cost analysis. Strong communication skills, combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, support effective collaboration across departments and with customers. Success in this role also requires a highly motivated individual capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and organizational objectives. Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality systems is considered a valuable asset and further strengthens the ability to support diverse customer and industry requirements.
