Job description

General Formulations is seeking a hands-on Process Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with roll-to-roll coating, printing, laminating, and converting operations while partnering with experienced engineers on process optimization, equipment reliability, product quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Do

  • Support and improve roll-to-roll coating, printing, laminating, and converting processes.
  • Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process optimization, quality improvement, waste reduction, and increased productivity.
  • Perform testing, experimentation, and validation of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs, work instructions, and technical reports.
  • Create engineering drawings, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and project documentation.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
  • Lead or support capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvement initiative
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and Technical teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist with process audits, field inspections, and startup activities for new equipment and manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in roll-to-roll manufacturing, coating, printing, laminating, converting, or similar continuous web-processing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and utilize process data.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment.
  • Experience with pressure-sensitive adhesive manufacturing or coating operations.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Experience with CAD software, engineering drawings, and P&IDs.
  • Familiarity with web handling systems, tension control, coating equipment, drying systems, and converting operations.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
