POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Functional Engineering Manager is a key leadership role at Creation Technologies, focused on overseeing and enhancing the engineering processes in Process Engineering. This leadership level position is crucial for driving the execution of complex engineering tasks, managing a team of engineers, and ensuring the creation, configuration, and optimization of processes required to produce and/or test Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) and box assemblies. The role requires an agile leader who can apply deep industry knowledge to advance manufacturing services, drive continuous improvement, uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency and maneuver resources to deliver on high priority tasks.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports to Director of Engineering

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
Process Engineering Manager Specific

  • Leads the process engineering team at the site.
  • Oversees process engineering tasks and activities with the support of Process Engineering team.
  • Has strong knowledge of several of the PCBA and/or box build process, including but not limited to: SMT equipment, tooling, materials, and processes; Auto insertion, solder flow processes and cleaning processes; Automated labelling, marking, conformal coating, potting and manual/auto assembly; Box build manufacturing techniques.
  • Leads the design, implementation, qualification, and validation of new process technologies and equipment, ensuring seamless integration into production.
  • Monitors and drives key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyzes data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues as needed.
  • Oversee the optimization and standardization of engineering processes: Develop and refine engineering procedures to ensure consistency and high-quality outcomes across production lines.
  • Lead the integration and stabilization of new process technologies: Evaluate and adopt new technologies that can enhance production capabilities, overseeing their integration into existing systems.
  • Drive cross-departmental collaboration to align process engineering activities with broader company goals: Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure process enhancements support overall business objectives.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with a focus on electronics and manufacturing processes or equivalent industry or military training experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ Years of progressive experience in electronics manufacturing including 3+ years in engineering management/leadership roles.
  • Aerospace, Defense and/or medical manufacturing experience required for A&D/Medical MFG sites.

Skills Required

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of EMS manufacturing processes, business models, and the technical landscape.
  • Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects, with a strong problem-solving capability.
  • Excellent collaboration and interaction skills, capable of working effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex concepts and influence decision-making for both internal and external stakeholders e.g., customers and vendors.
  • Must have advanced SME expertise in 1 or more of the Test Engineering, Process Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, along with strong understanding of the remaining engineering discipline(s).
  • Fiscal responsibility, with experience in budgeting, resource allocation, and performance management to achieve organizational goals.
  • Have a strong understanding of relevant compliance standards and requirements e.g., ISO9001, ISO13485, ITAR, CGP, IPC and J-STD workmanship standards.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is up to CDN $ 128,250 per year. Full-time employees are also eligible for performance-based bonuses and benefits. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as a final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, education, location, and shift. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on the date of hire, schedule type, and hours worked.
