Job description

ENGINEERING MANAGER


DESCRIPTION:

  • This is a responsible salary position requiring a “Whatever it Takes” mentality.
  • This position may require working weekends on occasion to perform evaluations, verify PM aspects and support the department Supervisor’s on process or equipment concerns.
  • This position will report to the Director of Engineering.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Engineering considerations in the Imaging, Plating, Etching, and Soldermask areas. This includes process recommendation and modification.

o Direct role in cultivating, educating and elevating Area Process Engineers. Direct influence on the projects, focus and priorities for the Area Process Engineers & Lab Technicians. Heavy input on evaluating the technical performances of the Area process Engineers.

o Driving process control improvements as well as SPC initiatives to create highly capable processes.

o Leading quality improvement initiatives.

o Working with Supervisors to correct quality related issues & perform root cause analysis for process failures.

o Leading productivity, cost, safety and waste minimization enhancements within the areas.

o Conducting process / operator audits to determine if variations to the procedure have been introduced. This will require attention to detail.

o Working and communicating with Vendors on issues and product considerations

o Communicating and working with Maintenance, Vendors, Production employees and the Lab / WWT on a routine basis.

o Working knowledge on the equipment in the associated departments. Must be globally proficient in all areas of the Production Process (Chemical, Mechanical and Image/Soldermask).

o Other responsibilities as required by the Director of Operations and Senior Leadership.

o Must be willing to field phone calls, regarding process issues, even when you are not at the facility. Efforts will be made to minimize disruptions to your personal time.

o Must have the discipline to document procedural enhancements and/or new process implementations in such a way that the knowledge is easily passed on to Engineers and Manufacturing Employees. The knowledge that you acquire and/or implement is the property of Advanced Circuits. It is your responsibility to transpose that knowledge into an official written document.

o Must possess a Science Degree in a related field and extensive experience in the field.

o Ability to interface with CAM, Customers and other Engineers to communicate process capabilities and production process limitations. Must be willing to train in CAM so that you have the ability to make upfront modifications to promote a first time pass through Production.

o Understand that this position is not only technical in nature but is also a support staff to the production process. If there are questions from the Operator Level, you are obligated to provide assistance or guidance to help resolve the issue.

o Computer literate and technically inclined.

o Willingness to travel occasionally to the other sister facilities for training and/or support.
