Position Overview

Kimball Solutions is a Medical Device Contract Manufacturer in Indianapolis, IN, and we are seeking an Engineering Manager who embodies technical mastery and strong leadership presence. This role reports directly to the General Manager and is integral to senior leadership. You will focus on developing, implementing, and maximizing the utilization of people, processes, systems, software, and technology to achieve continuous, measurable improvements across the engineering organization.

The Engineering Manager is directly responsible for molding process engineering, assembly/NPI engineering, and automation engineering.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering leadership with demonstrated progression in a highly regulated environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, with extensive experience implementing it in manufacturing and engineering settings.
  • Strong understanding of ERP, production scheduling, cycle times, takt times, touch times, yields, kanbans, and their impact on engineering operations.
  • Mastery of Microsoft products, including MS Project and project planning.
  • Ability to drive root‑cause issues and corrective actions to resolve problems and deliver continuous improvements.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and teach teams; strive for a 100% say/done ratio.
Key Performance Objectives
  • Short Term (0–3 months)
    • Learn Kimball Vision and Guiding Principles.
    • Understand systems and communicate effectively at all levels.
    • Develop relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Learn our Quality System and SOP requirements.
  • Midterm (3–6 months)
    • Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to engineering staff.
    • Become familiar with customers, products, processes, and management.
    • Act as a liaison with other departments to support engineering initiatives.
    • Expand teamwork and strengthen Kimball Solutions as an employer of choice.
  • Long Term (6–12+ months)
    • Implement changes or enhancements to meet engineering goals.
    • Develop strategies for new product introductions, sustaining engineering, smart factory initiatives, and continuous improvements.
    • Plan, review, and recommend engineering operations improvements.
