We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Water Scientist / Engineer to join our team in our Edmonton office. In this role you will provide strategic and technical leadership for our aquatic science services discipline, such as water quality studies, conceptual watershed models and planning, monitoring programs, aquatic studies, and water withdrawal or storage impact assessments. You will lead and oversee complex multidisciplinary water projects from proposal development through execution and delivery of high-quality work.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing projects, project teams, budgets, schedules, quality and client expectations.
  • Leading, preparing and reviewing technical reports, management plans, regulatory submissions, and environmental assessments.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and leading proposal development and client engagement activities.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, regulators, Indigenous communities, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with environmental and engineering professionals to deliver integrated advisory services.
  • Contributing to the strategic growth of the water discipline, including staff development, mentorship, resource planning, and operational excellence.

Does this sound like you?

  • Undergraduate degree in Water Resources, Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Geography, Aquatic Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline; a graduate degree (M.Sc.) is an asset.
  • 12+ years of environmental consulting experience, including technical leadership and working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex water-related projects.
  • Proven success developing client relationships, generating work, and growing business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction.
  • Professional Registration (e.g. P.Biol., P.Eng., or equivalent), or eligible for registration within one year.
  • Strong understanding of provincial and federal regulatory frameworks, environmental assessment processes, water management legislation, and permitting requirements.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • A commitment to technical excellence, team development, collaborative leadership, and mentoring technical staff.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, and tools such as R and / or Cormix modelling is an asset.
