The position operates within complex enterprise environments and plays a key role in aligning stakeholders, resolving delivery challenges, and driving operational excellence. The Data Engineering Manager balances strategic planning with hands-on leadership to support both technology and business objectives.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, prioritization, and delivery of data engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with business, operational, and clinical objectives.
  • Oversee data platform reliability, scalability, operational readiness, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage project roadmaps, timelines, risks, dependencies, status reporting, and cross-functional team coordination.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for data engineering issues and support resolution of complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, security, data standards, and change management requirements while promoting engineering best practices and quality outcomes.
Additional Details ******This is a hybrid position at our Corporate Headquarters in Franklin, TN. ******Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in technical delivery, data engineering delivery, data warehousing, or related roles.
  • 3+ years of experience leading technical teams.
  • Experience coordinating hybrid delivery models, including onshore/offshore teams and vendor partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage roadmaps, backlogs, dependencies, risks, milestones, and executive-ready status reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Data platforms in support of hybrid environments.
  • Experience applying Agile, Scrum, Kanban, waterfall, or hybrid delivery frameworks in a technical environment.
  • Working knowledge of data pipelines, integration patterns, databases, cloud platforms, and large-scale data processing concepts.
  • Experience with Microsoft data and reporting tools, including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, PowerShell, and Tableau.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and change management considerations in technology delivery.
  • Familiarity with modern data engineering tools such as Databricks, Delta Lake, or Snowflake preferred.
  • Exposure to master data management (MDM) or enterprise data governance frameworks preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex data warehousing, database, and infrastructure issues under operational pressure.
  • Experience supporting healthcare or other highly regulated environments preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Microsoft Azure, data engineering, project management, Agile/Scrum, or related technology certifications
