Job description

Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in Evaluating Performance:
1.Develop economical and effective manufacturing methods for the production of a wide variety of investment castings.
2.Examine processes/methods to identify and eliminate waste. Responsible for cost reduction leadership relating to the process and for controlling the process portion of overall plant scrap.
3.Assure that sample programs are properly administered and deliveries met.
4.Assure that requited jobs are properly estimated and administered.
5.Supervise the process engineering staff in all activities related to the technical aspects of the mold storage, mold preheat, melting parameters and metallurgy.
6.Maintain departmental costs within budget.
7.Establish manufacturing methods and standards to meet customer and Company requirements.
8.Assists with New Product Introduction (NPI), including the initial process development, establishment of milestones, supervision of tool building, management of the development cycle and the communication of progress to customers as required.
9.Manage the establishment and maintenance of controls in the wax, shell and foundry departments to assure manufacturing processes are stable and uniform across the product families manufactured.
10.Manages PFEMA & Six Sigma as it pertains to process control.
Additional Responsibilities:
1.Develop and train personnel to improve technical skills. Assist and check subordinates on standards of performance in meeting schedules for customer samples and production requirements.
2.Participate in the establishment of quality specifications and standards for raw material used in the process.
3.Prepare process sheets, estimate sheets, and tool work orders on all new and revised customer parts to meet Line-Of-Balance schedules.
4.Prepare and maintain all related files, records, reports, part prints and statistics in useable forms for processing, estimating and other purposes.
5.Maintain all required contacts to keep abreast of developments in manufacturing engineering of benefit to the Company and make recommendations as to adoption of feasible items.
6.Conduct performance appraisals of salaried subordinates.
7.Maintain process planning and associated data systems.
8.Ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with the Company's Code of Conduct.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
2. Ten or more years of related experience with 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role desirable
