Job description

Job Description:
The Applications Engineer position will be based out of Zeeco's Broken Arrow office. The position will require knowledge of all Zeeco products, with a focus on Thermal Oxidizer division products and technical requirements. The position will be responsible for individual proposal management, and all Zeeco disciplines required, ensuring the most complete offering with the greatest potential for award and contract.
Job Duties:
• Analyzes and interprets customer inquiries, including specifications, to design and specify appropriate equipment for the application.
• Develop a process design and select designs which provide the best solution for the customer's requirements and maximizes the potential for profit to Zeeco.
• Work with product technology specialists ( i.e process engineer, mechanical engineer) as required on complex designs to assure the best knowledge for the design and process guarantees
• Travels to customer's facilities for site support and details needed for technical review and proposal generation.
• Assists with technical development and risk assessment of customer inquiries.
• Develops cost estimates according to established guidelines.
• Sets product pricing using mark-up and commission schedules established by management.
• Determines drawings needed for quotation and coordinates their completion.
• Evaluate technical and commercial risks associated with the proposal
• Writes, edits, and issues formal quotations to customer.
• Follow-up on any written or verbal correspondence with customer during quotation phase.
• Develop and implement sales strategy for each opportunity with the help of outside Zeeco sales team and local agents.
• Visits with customer's post-proposal issuance to discuss and negotiate proposal.
• Provide status reports to management on overall proposal status and activities
• Assist with the creation and modification of sales presentations / documents using Microsoft Office, Excel / PowerPoint / Publisher / Adobe and all Web based systems.
• Win the order. Negotiate technical options, pricing and T & C's with the customer
• Review project scheduling requirements with project management or Master Scheduling before committing to delivery dates
• Review purchase order, specifications and commercial terms to assure they are acceptable before sending acceptance letter
• Take responsibility for resolving the final project scope, including all commercial and technical issues and final order acceptance
• Complete the project turnover package.
• Works with management to determine updated skills and tools needed to continue improving performance and knowledge.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned that are appropriate based on skills and experience.
Qualifications:
• B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or related field)
• 5+ years of industry experience (ie. sales and/or industry experience)
