Job description

Sofidel America of Inola, OK is currently seeking a Paper Mill Process Engineer. We are searching for a candidate that is looking for a long-term role in a stable environment and is willing to travel as well as relocate. Your expertise will make you an important part of our team!
The Paper Mill Projects Engineer will manage large technical projects to further the growth of Sofidel’s manufacturing facilities. The project will require understanding a wide range of technologies, such as paper making machinery, electric power distribution, equipment control and automation system, steam generation and distribution, water treatment plant. As part of their role, PM Projects Engineer may be involved with projects at any of Sofidel’s existing facilities throughout the US (Ohio, Wisconsin, Nevada, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Florida) and would play a key role in any future expansion plans undertaken by the company.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design and implementation of large capital investment projects for newly automated tissue manufacturing lines.
  • Create initial Request for Quotes (RFQs), analyse comparisons of alternative technical solutions, and handle equipment negotiations in coordination with the purchasing and accounting departments.
  • Analyze existing weaknesses, potential technical innovations and investment proposals, also through the presence in the production plants, and suggest the best solutions.
  • Own the project budget throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate the construction works on buildings and infrastructures required by the project.
  • Use Auto Cad to create or modify the project layout design for specific equipment, as well as large machinery layout within the manufacturing area.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage secondary vendors involved in the implementation of the project, such as Mechanical/Electrical Installers, crane rigging teams, Service Technicians, etc.
  • Supervise the installation site in order to ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations, company policies, and delivery/quality of project objectives.
  • Handle relationships with vendors, maintain communications with project stakeholders, and support functions for the manufacturing operations team.
  • Supervise equipment audits, start-up and follow up after project delivery.
  • Interact directly with both executive-level management and day-to-day operators.
  • Provide technical support to the productive units also in the post start-up phase.
  • Support the manufacturing plants in managing the day-to-day relationships with equipment suppliers.
  • Assist with ongoing efforts at process improvement within the manufacturing facilities.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing, Paper, Industrial, Electrical or Chemical is preferred.
  • 1+ year of Project Manager or Manufacturing experience.
  • Must be familiar with the principles of project management, as well as manufacturing.
  • Experience with Auto Cad LT or another computer-aided design program is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office is Preferred.
  • Must be able to travel frequently for extended periods of time.
