Responsibilities

We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our Claims Process Engineering (CPE) team. The Process Engineer role in CPE is expected to have skills and experiences around process design and improvement methodologies. If you enjoy testing new technologies, process improvement, and analyzing data this may be the perfect position for you!

Process Engineers will also be responsible for:

  • Conducting research and analysis for end-to-end process design efforts across P&C Claims Auto, Fire and Shared Services segments
  • Utilizing Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodologies to identify opportunities which will reduce waste and result in measurable improvements in efficiency
  • Successfully executing the implementation of identified process improvements to achieve measurable results (operational efficiency, service, quality, or customer experience)
  • Driving collaboration and positive change in complex business processes with teams comprised of process, execution, and other business partners
  • Developing comprehensive understanding of structure, standard work, work segmentation, and detailed processes in segments related to project assignments
  • Identifying, collecting, and properly analyzing readily available claim, task, phone, and other approved operational metrics
  • Completing appropriate communication materials that adequately illustrate the findings and recommendations to various levels of execution leadership (tollgate PowerPoint slides, communication plans, project initiative updates, business decision documents, etc.)
  • Effectively measure cost/benefit analyses for project prioritization and/or implementation
  • Managing and prioritizing multiple work objectives simultaneously in an agile environment

Interview Process:

The interview process will consist of a 3 step process; first round candidates may be invited to complete an on demand video interview; from the on demand video interview round, competitive candidates may be invited to participate in a data exercise. Following the data exercise, competitive candidates may be invited to a live hiring team interview where selected candidates will be asked to present their case study to the interview panel.

  • Position may require travel via commercial transportation and driving motor vehicles to any location where the Company does business
  • May work extended hours and weekends

Work Locations: Bloomington, IL-Corporate, Dunwoody, GA-ParkCenter Hub, Richardson, TX-CityLine Hub or Tempe, AZ-Marina Heights Hub locations. Must be within 100 miles of listed locations.

Hybrid Work arrangement: A "Hybrid" position means selected candidates will be assigned to a facility and will spend some time working both in office and from their home.

Incumbency: All employees in support and professional roles selected for a Claims position will have a time in role commitment (6 months for promotions, 12 months for lateral) beginning on the effective date of transfer which must be met by the end of the posting period for any other State Farm positions. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.


Qualifications

A strong candidate for this position has:

  • Current or prior experience in a Process Analyst or similar role
  • Project Management experience
  • A solid understanding of process improvement methodologies including Lean and Six Sigma
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (trend identification, interpreting data, statistical testing)
  • Intermediate to advanced level of Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A continuous improvement mindset

  • Potential starting salary range: $80,600.00 - $142,000.00
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
