Job description

The Process Dev Engineering Scientific Associate will support stem cell therapy process development, including performing stem cell culture media optimization studies, stem cell expansion and differentiation process characterization and process scale up, and will be part of a weekend shift team to ensure process continuity. This role will contribute to the exploration and establishment of novel technologies to support cell therapy process optimization and scale-up.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform routine stem cell culture including stem cell expansion and differentiation
• Support execution of lab-based process development activities and experiments.
• Prepare related media and buffers in a sterile aseptic environment
• Generate samples for analytical assays and coordinate with Analytical team to plan timely analysis
• Collaborate with team members, align on project goals and priorities, sharing results and participating in team discussions
• Contribute to fostering a collaborative working environment and positive team culture
• Ensure data integrity by timely completion of phase-appropriate documentations, including experiment recording in electronic notebook system, develop protocols, and author reports to support future technology transfer and regulatory filings
• Ensure compliance with lab safety procedures
• This is a weekend shift position, and the shift is from Wednesday to Sunday, Thursday to Monday or Friday to Tuesday depending on the work load.

Education and Experience:
• A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with 0-3 years of experience, or master’s degree with 0-1 years of experience.
• Experience in aseptic processing and cell culture.
• Experience with bioreactor systems such as Ambr15, Ambr250, bench top bioreactor, 50L bioreactor etc.
• Hands on experience with cryopreservation and cell banking.
• Process development experience in a bio-pharmaceutical setting working with interdisciplinary and cross-cultural teams will be preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate findings, progress, and problems.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a multidiscip

Contract length: 6 months, with the chance to extend.
