Job description

Build the Drawings That Keep Projects Moving

Are you tired of chasing bad drawings that slow down jobs and create problems in the field?

Do you want to lead a team where your standards actually stick, and your decisions make a real impact?

At NE Tech Air, our CAD Manager doesn't sit on the sidelines. You lead the process, set the standard, and make sure every drawing helps the field win.

If you're ready to take ownership and build something better, apply today.

Why You'll Love Working Here

We don't treat CAD like a support function. We treat it like the backbone of every project.

At NE Tech Air, we design and build HVAC systems for schools, hospitals, labs, and critical spaces across New England. The work matters, and the details matter even more.

Our foundation is built on these principles:

  • Adapt and Conquer
  • Bring the Heat
  • Build Strong Relationships
  • Own the Process, Own the Outcome

You won't be stuck waiting for permission here. If something is broken, you fix it. If a process slows the team down, you improve it. You are trusted to make decisions that move projects forward.

If you want ownership, accountability, and the chance to lead a team the right way--this is your seat.

Who Thrives in the CAD Manager Role

You'll do well in this role if you naturally take ownership and lead from the front.

  • Lead by example and follow through on commitments.
  • Communicate clearly and often with your team.
  • Solve problems early to avoid slowing production.
  • Stay organized across multiple active projects.
  • Keep calm under pressure and make smart decisions.
  • Take pride in building systems that actually work.

You don't just manage drawings. You build a process people can rely on.

How You'll Make an Impact

As CAD Manager, your job is to protect quality while keeping production moving.

You'll:

  • Lead daily CAD operations and balance team workloads.
  • Run quick team check-ins to align priorities.
  • Coordinate weekly with project managers on schedules.
  • Maintain and enforce CAD standards and templates.
  • Review drawings before release to prevent rework.
  • Track CAD hours and flag risks early.
  • Remove workflow and technical bottlenecks.
  • Train and develop your CAD team.

When you do your job well, projects stay on track, and the field runs clean.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 7+ years of CAD drafting experience in HVAC, mechanical, or construction environments.
  • 2+ years leading or supervising a CAD team.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and discipline-specific CAD tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents and shop drawings.
  • Experience supporting schedule-driven construction projects.
  • Proven ability to manage standards and quality control.
  • Strong communication skills with project managers, engineers, and field teams.

Preferred:

  • Technical school, associate degree, or formal CAD training.
  • Industry certifications related to CAD or BIM.

What We Have to Offer

  • Competitive salary range of $95,000 - $120,000 per year, based on experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Professional development and training opportunities.
  • A leadership team that trusts you to make decisions.
  • The opportunity to shape innovative HVAC projects across New England.

Ready to Lead and Make It Better?

At NE Tech Air, you're not just managing drawings.

You're building the systems that keep projects moving, teams aligned, and installs running right the first time.

If you're ready to lead, improve, and own the outcome, APPLY TODAY and take the next step in your career.
