Position: Special Education Process Coordinator
Qualifications:
  1. Education Level: Masters Degree or above with an emphasis in Special Education
  2. Certification: Special Education
  3. Experience desired: Minimum of 2 years experience as a Process Coordinator preferred
  4. Other Requirements: CPI Trained - Training will be provided by Willard Public Schools

General Summary: This program is supported with Local, State and Federal Funds; therefore, accuracy, efficiency and accountability are key elements to the effectiveness of this program. It is important to be goal driven and maintain a high level of professionalism while adhering to company policy. Reporting deadlines dictate priorities, therefore flexibility is essential. The statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual assigned to this job. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required of personnel so employed.
Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Complete the screening sheets for transfer and new referral records
  2. Contact parents regarding the evaluation process, as needed
  3. Obtain permission for evaluations for initial referrals, as needed
  4. Contact previous school districts in order to obtain necessary information to develop an IEP (interim for transfer students)
  5. Attend IEP meetings
  6. Oversee evaluation process K-12
  7. Organize and ensure completion of evaluation reports
  8. Assist with testing, staffing, and special education teachers' development of IEPs and obtain placement permission
  9. Proofread and approve evaluation reports written by teachers and counselors
  10. Be available to teachers and other school personnel as consultant
  11. Assist with testing for ECSE and State School children
  12. Be available to attend meetings before and after school as needed
  13. Assist the Director of Student Services in researching and/or implementing new program components
  14. Develop, provide, and promote regular in service training to special education staff regarding special education procedures and assist mainstream classroom teachers with inclusion facilitation.
  15. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Executive Director of Student Services.
