General Summary:
Responsible for directing, planning, and coordinating all related activities, including supervising, establishing expectations and accountability for the Shipping and Production Control departments. Ensure manufactured parts are scheduled and delivered to the customer on time.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Health and safety of all team members.
  • Supports and supervises Shipping and Production Control Departments.
  • Set objectives and establish plans to accomplish such goals.
  • Complete timely reviews and check-ins on all team members.
  • Provide support to help resolve plant issues and coordinate proper personnel to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Lead and support cost reduction and other continuous improvement efforts.
  • Receive all customer orders.
  • Establish production schedules to maximize efficiency; coordinate customer inquiries and maintain respective files.
  • Create related reports, reconcile order requests, and monitor manufacturing outputs and inventory levels.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and coordinate required physical inventories.
  • Communicate regularly with customers, manufacturing, sales, and engineering.
  • Ensure that all orders are properly entered into the system and scheduled for production in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and ensure department is "tour ready."

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:
  • Proficient knowledge of PC software applications including Word, Excel and Odyssey and Dayforce.
  • Familiarity with computerized inventory control and scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work in and encourage a team environment and facilitate change when necessary.
  • Maintain exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to calculate and review documents for accuracy.

Working Conditions
  • The Production Control and Finishing Manager will reside in the office and on the production floor. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and on their feet 50% on the production floor.
  • This position will operate a computer and other machinery in the plant.
  • Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and other individuals in person and telephone.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years' experience in production scheduling and planning.
  • APICS Certification a plus.
  • Materials management certificate or degree preferred.
  • Prefer 3 - 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
