Job description

Are you a hands-on manufacturing engineer who enjoys solving problems on the production floor, driving process improvements, and helping teams achieve consistent results?

We're seeking a Process Engineer to join our Conyers, GA manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in improving process control, standardizing manufacturing practices, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across our plastics manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable spending the majority of their time on the production floor rather than behind a desk.

What You'll Do
  • Review, develop, and improve manufacturing process control plans.
  • Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for improved quality, efficiency, and consistency.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and processing issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Lead process investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Partner with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve plant performance.
  • Support process validation, testing, data collection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive standardization and process discipline across manufacturing operations.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent manufacturing engineering experience will be considered, particularly within plastics processing.
  • 5+ years of experience in plastics processing, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering preferred.
  • Experience in thermoforming, extrusion, injection molding, or related plastics manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of process controls, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, SPC, FMEA, DOE, and related methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Why This Role Is Different

This is not a traditional desk-based engineering role. Expect to spend approximately 80% of your time on the manufacturing floor, observing processes, gathering data, working directly with operators, and implementing improvements.

Success in the First 90 Days
  • Review and assess existing process control plans.
  • Identify critical process gaps and opportunities for standardization.
  • Develop and implement updated control plans and process documentation for thermoforming operations.
  • Build strong partnerships across Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams.
