About the Role:

Maverick Power is seeking a dedicated Materials and Inventory Control Manager to oversee all aspects of logistics, materials management, materials handling, and inventory control. The Material and Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient procurement, storage, and distribution of materials to support production schedules and minimize costs. The role requires a strong focus on inventory accuracy, process optimization, leadership, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies for the receipt, handling and management of raw materials, components, and supplies required for manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production demands while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Inventory Control:
  • Implement inventory control procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory records.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to reconcile physical inventories with system records.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory counts and take corrective actions as needed.
Operational Support:
  • Work closely with procurement, operations, and production planning teams to ensure the timely availability of materials for production activities.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory movements, trends, and variances to optimize inventory turnover and minimize carrying costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Quality Assurance, to support overall business objectives.
Leadership and Compliance:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the materials and inventory control team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to materials management and inventory control.
  • Promote a safe working environment by enforcing proper handling and storage practices for hazardous materials.
Performance Metrics:
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to materials management and inventory control.
  • Analyze KPI data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in materials management and inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices preferred.
  • Experience with switchgear, power electronics or industrial manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.

May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
