Arconic is currently in search of an Automation Engineer to join our Building and Construction Team based in Springdale, Arkansas.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Perform and direct the design, development, and installation of complex engineering projects.
  • Provide engineering innovations that will improve process control and product quality.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and manage change control processes for PLC programming, serving as the primary expert for implementing modifications and restoring systems to original OEM specifications.
  • Lead PLC integration of data to process data historians (e.g., OSI Pi and IBA).
  • Maintain a current awareness of the latest technologies in mechanical, electrical, control, and automation systems.
  • Develop and implement sustainable solutions to eliminate repetitive equipment failures.
  • Lead and facilitate risk assessment and value analysis to make accurate engineering decisions for repair, replace, or redesign.
  • Interact and clearly communicate with multiple levels within the organization across departments including finance, procurement, production, maintenance, and senior management.
  • Provide OT (Operational Technology) support similar to IT functions.
  • Work closely with automation and data systems to ensure seamless operations and data integrity.
  • Improve the overall safety of the plant's equipment and processes.

Qualifications
You have: (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution.
    5 years' experience with PLC ladder logic and HMI programming.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to Basic Qualifications)
  • Development and troubleshooting utilizing Rockwell Software Suite (rsLogix, Factorytalk View Studio, Motion / servo control).
  • Experience with troubleshooting and configuration of hardware for industrial ethernet networks.
  • Experience using and configuring OSI PI and or IBA historians for process data.
  • Experience with the development of Power BI, SQL queries, Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Active Directory, Windows machine staging processes, and Network Management.
  • Experience with using Microsoft Project.
  • Experience retrofitting and upgrading complex and large-scale control systems.
  • Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES).
