Summary:
The Fractionation Coordinator (NFB) performs complex tasks within a GMP environment and ensures employees perform to established standards in regards to cleaning and maintaining the workplace, cleaning, assembling and disassembling operating equipment per applicable procedures, assisting with process control manipulations and maintaining records/logs in accordance with current standard procedures.
Primary responsibilities for role:
Performs all duties described at the Fractionation Sr. Technician - NFB level.
- Directly responsible for assigning routine work assignments and sees that assigned work is completed in a timely manner.
- Informs the Supervisor of process status, difficulties and assists in process planning to maximize efficiency.
- Monitors area to ensure employees are operating per all procedures and guidelines related to Safety.
- Assist Supervisor in BPR changes and in checking over BPRs.
- Works with Supervisor to help in maintaining yields.
- Assists Supervisor in following up on work orders.
- Actively participates in the production process.
- Coordinates the use of production equipment to maximize capacity.
- Recognizes and leads troubleshooting efforts which at times might require higher level input to resolve.
- Integrates new employees and ensures process training for new employees is completed as required.
- Trains advancing employees in other job functions covered in the training matrix and job descriptions.
- Provides input to the Supervisor regarding individual performance of team members.
- Works with the Department Manager and Supervisors to implement and enforce Department and Company policies.
- Can navigate, troubleshoot, and functions at a high level with building automation systems (DeltaV, SCADA).
- Serves as a back up in the event the Supervisor is not available.
Additional Responsibilities:
Provides input to supervisor regarding individual performance of Technicians, Coordinates equipment for maximum use, ensures cGMP in all processing areas at all times.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Coordinator must have exceptional technical expertise, ability to train others, a sound understanding of computer based control systems, and leadership traits as demonstrated by communication and interpersonal skills. It is preferred that candidate have achieved the requirements of a Sr. Technician..
Education and Experience:
Internal Requirements: Present or past production work experience in Fractionation Department.
Employee must meet at a minimum all requirements for the Fractionation Technician III level position and must have received a minimum of a meets expectations overall rating on his/her most recent performance review..
*Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of experience, an equivalency could include 8 years of experience, an Associate's degree with 6 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience.
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with rotating shifts. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment and moving machinery. Exposure to high levels of noise and to dust/gas/fumes/steam. Exposure to extreme cold below 32*. Occasional entry into confined spaces, requiring kneeling, crawling, climbing and squatting. Works at heights on scaffolding and/or on ladders. Personal protective equipment required such as; protective eyewear, chemical suits, safety shoes and/or rubber footwear, gloves, hearing protection and a respirator. Work is performed standing, walking and bending neck for 6-8 hours per day. Frequently sits for 4-6 hours per day. Frequent movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Occasionally bends and twists neck and waist. Light lifting of 15lbs for 2-4 hours per day with a maximum lift of 50lbs. Hearing acuity essential. Color perception/discrimination, and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken and written words and sentences. Frequently performs routine tasks by following a set of written or oral instructions/procedures.
