Job description

This position is responsible for providing product engineering support to production lines and improving assembly processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Improve and support production on existing products, processes, procedures and provide shop floor support as needed.
  • Purchase, replenish, maintain and doing preventive maintenance on production tools and fixtures.
  • Assist Product Engineer or facility to design and build fixtures.
  • Support facility on layout and improvement projects. Send out facility service request and follow-up with facility until completion of the request.
  • Work with Product Engineering team on Kaizen projects (yield, cycle time, efficiency, automation and etc), maintaining or updating product information on machine operation systems and resolve manufacturing issues on a timely basis.
  • Assist Product Engineer on New Product Introduction (NPI) implementation.
  • Implement 6S improvement activities on the production floor.
  • Maintaining and carry out preventive maintenance on equipment and machine troubleshooting during breakdowns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Tact Time Analysis, Lean production methods, Kanban, and lean manufacturing
  • Understanding of quality systems such as Six Sigma
  • AutoCAD drawing knowledge
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability to function independently and multi-task
  • Must have ability to remain flexible in a dynamic work environment

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum Associate's degree with 1 year of process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Associate degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Contract manufacturing experience is a plus.
